Board Elections, School Presentation Featured at Annual Meeting
Board elections and a presentation by Magnolia Woods Elementary principal Kim DiPalma were the highlights of the Magnolia Woods Civic Association’s (MWCA) 2015 Annual Membership meeting held December 13. Michelle Babin, Sylvia Martinez, and Dianne Taylor will fill the positions of outgoing board members Sam Martin, Judy Caprio, and Richard Condrey. Officer elections will be held at the Board meets at 7 p.m., January 8, 2016 at the Magnolia Woods Pool clubhouse.
Ms. DiPalma described the school’s instructional program, including its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) focus, computer lab, and accelerated classes. The presentation was timed to coincide with an association initiative to forge a closer relationship between the neighborhood and the school. VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) coordinator Joan Pennington recognized neighborhood volunteers and a new school/community garden initiative was announced.
